Hesed: What are we waiting for …Pt 4 

Love just Love and more love from Heaven

From the book “No Greater Love.- A.W. Tozer” some excerpts placed by Father Almighty 

“He is the first born among many breathes. The little brother was lost, so the firstborn went to find him. The Shepherd was there for his sheep. 

Reason says the shepherd, “Why are you searching in the darkness? The night is settling in, and there are beasts out here?” Your husband or wife and children are waiting for you to come home. The kettle is on the stove, and supper is waiting . Why are you here?”

The Shepherd’s response? “Up the hollow, somewhere there’s a sheep.”

That is all the reason I need. All the logic I need. The shepherd came for   the sheep. Where would the shepherd find the sheep except for where the sheep were? If the sheep could get to him, he or she would not have  had to come, but because they could not come to him, he came to them. The wonder of incarnation is more than a theological proposition.. It is highly emotional.”

Big brother came for the little brothers and sisters. The shepherd came for the sheep except. God came for man, The savior came for the lost, and He is still here. Though unseen by the mortal eyes, He is with us everyday. The Mystery and wonder of His presence among us is that He came for us. The Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost.  That is his explanation. 

“Peter had walked with Jesus until a “whom” had formed in his mind, not a what , not a religion, not a creed . Again, he did not say  “To what shall we go? But “to whom shall we go?” A person had begun to move into Peter’s life. The others left to a “what.”

“Into this world came a quiet man who said people should worship Him in spirit and in truth”

“Once I am on board that train, nothing else seems to matter. The rejoicing of my heart is not in what I do for the Lord, but rather what He has done for me and continues to do in me and for me day after day.

The thing we need to understand is simply that God desires the whole world to be saved. It is not His pleasure to see any person miss heaven because of of rebellion and sin. God’s desire is to see everybody be saved and go to heaven.

This unconditional love is non negotiable. God established this love before the foundations of the world were set. Nothing has changed in God’s mind that would in any way cause Him to modify this love. 

Is not that what religion  is all about? Getting together and have panel discussions so that we can come to an agreement on what something really means. Well, that does not work when it comes to the love of God.

“The love of God is not open for panel discussion. Nothing is going to change the love God has for us. All that is needed to do is come to God on His terms.”

We do not like that. We look at people and we see race, gender, and all sorts of other things. But when God looks at people, He sees the image of God. And if a person is not a Christian, that image has been marred and destroyed. The passion of God’s heart is to have that image restored through the love of Jesus Christ.

The discrimination today is the work of the enemy to hinder certain people from receiving God’s love. Even though this love is unconditional, we need to understand that when God created man He gave us power of choice. God will never force anybody into His love.I am going to heaven -not because I die. I am going to heaven because I have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ and I have allowed His love  to flow into my heart and overwhelm me with desire and adoration for Him. The Gospel does not change, because God does not change. The unconditional love that God has poured out on us never changes. I might see myself changing as I experience this love, but the love of God never changes. It is perfect.It is pure. It is holy. And all that means is that God’s love does not lack anything at all.”

“We also have a cross we need to bear, and if we bear that cros, it is only because we have quietly waited for the silent love of God to strengthen us and give us the motivation”

John 3:31-36 NIV

“31 The one who comes from above is above all; the one who is from the earth belongs to the earth, and speaks as one from the earth. The one who comes from heaven is above all. 32 He testifies to what he has seen and heard, but no one accepts his testimony. 33 Whoever has accepted it has certified that God is truthful. 34 For the one whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God[a] gives the Spirit without limit. 35 The Father loves the Son and has placed everything in his hands. 36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.”

“Human reason cannot save us , simply because human is fallen. That which is fallen cannot raise itself above its fallen level and human reason like the human body and human soul fallen. Human reason extends out from its fallen level to another man on the fallen level and entertains him with high ideals, but it cannot lift him out of the clay. It cannot fly him out of that low cloud-covered valley. It cannot.  Take him out of its shadow.”

“But, He comes from above is above Human reason, and He never learned  or gained anything from it, nor does He owe anything to it  or take any advantage from it or have any need of it. He who comes from above is unique. 

He who comes from above is incarnated reason. The old theologians said that one of the attributes of God is reason. The little bit of reason you and I have is fallen and broken like a shattered vase. The little bit you and I can gather up, scrape the mud off of, polish and send to school, that is a bit shattered reason, which was given us of God, who is the fountain and source of all reason 

A man talks about his reason, and yet human reason cannot get him out. You cannot reason  yourself up a sheer wall. And you cannot reason yourself out of the pit, because your human reason is fallen and subject to error. He comes down; He is the incarnation of reason. 

He who comes from above is above human science, and human science is nothing but the application of reason to matter and natural laws. We are terribly frightened today because of the existence of things like the hydrogen bomb, which could be more devasting than anything we’ve seen before. I do not know how far science is going to take us. 

Then I think of human civilization. What is human civilization? It is simply education, science, and art applied to the task of refining people and making them more comfortable in the valley. That is all. 

“Therefore. Like Jesus, I will climb the mountain and spend time alone with God to experience the silent love of Jesus Christ”

“I am not out to impress anybody. I am not tempted to impress my family or my friends. I am not tempted to impress the religious communities. I am just overwhelmed by the fact that God’s love flows unconditionally into my life.”

Psalm 139:13-16 NIV

For you created my inmost being;
    you knit me together in my mother’s womb.

14 

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
    your works are wonderful,
    I know that full well.

15 

My frame was not hidden from you
    when I was made in the secret place,
    when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.

Your eyes saw my unformed body;
    all the days ordained for me were written in your book
    before one of them came to be.
