11-15 “You’ve been given insight into God’s kingdom. You know how it works. Not everybody has this gift, this insight; it hasn’t been given to them. Whenever someone has a ready heart for this, the insights and understandings flow freely. But if there is no readiness, any trace of receptivity soon disappears. That’s why I tell stories: to create readiness, to nudge the people toward a welcome awakening. In their present state they can stare till doomsday and not see it, listen till they’re blue in the face and not get it. I don’t want Isaiah’s forecast repeated all over again:
Your ears are open but you don’t hear a thing.� Your eyes are awake but you don’t see a thing.�The people are stupid!�They stick their fingers in their ears� so they won’t have to listen;�They screw their eyes shut� so they won’t have to look,� so they won’t have to deal with me face-to-face� and let me heal them.

Proverbs 4:23-27 MSG

23-27 Keep vigilant watch over your heart;� that’s where life starts.�Don’t talk out of both sides of your mouth;� avoid careless banter, white lies, and gossip.�Keep your eyes straight ahead;� ignore all sideshow distractions.�Watch your step,� and the road will stretch out smooth before you.�Look neither right nor left;� leave evil in the dust.

Luke 8:10 MSG

10 He said, “You’ve been given insight into God’s kingdom—you know how it works. There are others who need stories. But even with stories some of them aren’t going to get it:

Colossians 3:23-25 MSG

22-25 Servants, do what you’re told by your earthly masters. And don’t just do the minimum that will get you by. Do your best. Work from the heart for your real Master, for God, confident that you’ll get paid in full when you come into your inheritance. Keep in mind always that the ultimate Master you’re serving is Christ. The sullen servant who does shoddy work will be held responsible. Being a follower of Jesus doesn’t cover up bad work.

23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
